Since its beginnings, the International Mozart Competition of the University Mozarteum Salzburg is one of the great music competitions worldwide. The competition was founded in 1975. Since 2014 the International Mozart Competition Salzburg is held every two years (2023 string quartet & voice, 2025 violin & piano). The centre of attention is Mozart and the discovering of the greatest interpreters of his genius music in the young generation is our aim.
