In 1971 he won one of the most famous music prizes for cellists, the Cassado Competition in Florence.

In 1988 won the two highest prizes of the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition: the first prize and the special prize for best Bach performance.

Gastinel Anne

At the age of 18 she won the first prize in the Scheveningen competition.
