Interview - Hubert Tassy
Towards the end of the interview, Tassy shares a memory of a class by Jordi Savall, who “transfigured his playing simply because this student was breathing out of time. And so Jordi told him and as he was very good, he understood what was asked of him and his playing totally changed. So he totally opened up, simply, we had never told him, we had never told him that he was not breathing on the steps, on the right tempo”. This anecdote serves to reinforce the importance of the masterclass, since sometimes, an outside look from a great musician can be of great help.
