Before beginning her vocal studies with Carol Richardson-Smith at the Conservatory in Hannover, she completed a degree in Instrumental Music Education at the same school. \u00a0She was awarded prizes in many competitions; for example,the Sylvia-Geszty-Koloraturgesangswettbewerbes in Luxembourg.\u00a0From 1993-2001 Carola Guber sang as member of the \u201eFest\u201c Ensemble of the \u00a0Nieders\u00e4chsischen Staatsoper in Hannover. \u00a0While there she performed such roles as \u00a0H\u00e4nsel in H\u00e4nsel und Gretel, Siebel in Gounods Faust, Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Angelina in La Cenerentola (nominated for \u00a0\u201ebest young singer of the year\u201c by the magazine Opernwelt), Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda, Prinz Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Muse-Niklas in \u00a0Hoffmanns Erz\u00e4hlungen, and Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos.\u00a0From 2001-2004 she sang as member of the Ensemble at the\u00a0Vereinigte\u00a0St\u00e4dtische\u00a0B\u00fchnen\u00a0Krefeld\/M\u00f6nchengladbach. \u00a0There her Repertoire expanded to include Carmen, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni,\u00a0Jokasta\u00a0in Oedipus by\u00a0Riehm, and Olga in Eugen\u00a0Onegin. From 2004 - 2008 she worked as a member of the Ensemble at the Theater Erfurt. While there she sang Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier,\u00a0Fremde\u00a0F\u00fcrstin\u00a0in Rusalka, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni,\u00a0Kundry\u00a0in Parsifal, and Venus in Tannh\u00e4user.\u00a0In addition to the above-mentioned fest Engagements, Carola\u00a0Guber\u00a0also sang as a\u00a0guest \u00a0-\u00a0both in opera and in concerts - in \u00a0Theaters in K\u00f6ln, Kassel, Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Schwerin, Wiesbaden, N\u00fcrnberg, Dortmund, D\u00fcsseldorf, Weimar, Darmstadt, Bonn, Helsinki, Stuttgart, the Alte\u00a0Oper\u00a0Frankfurt, as well as in Italy, France, Portugal, Holland, and the USA. \u00a0Festivals\u00a0include \u00a0Ludwigsburger\u00a0Schlo\u00dffestspiele, the Menuhin-Festival Gstaad, the\u00a0Rheingau\u00a0Musikfestival, the\u00a0G\u00f6ttinger\u00a0H\u00e4ndel\u00a0Festspiele, the\u00a0Br\u00fchler\u00a0Schlo\u00dfkonzerte,\u00a0Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rom. Most important among her conductors were John Eliot Gardiner, Pierre Boulez, Adam Fischer, Wolfgang\u00a0G\u00f6nnenwein, Ruben\u00a0Gazarian, Christoph Prick, Frans\u00a0Br\u00fcggen\u00a0and Andreas\u00a0Spering. She worked with stage directors such as Philipp\u00a0Himmelmann, Mario del Monaco, Gregor\u00a0Horres, Thomas\u00a0Krupa\u00a0and Alexander\u00a0Schulin.\u00a0Between 2004 and 2012 Carola\u00a0Guber\u00a0was a regular guest at the Bayreuth Festival: in two productions as\u00a0Blumenm\u00e4dchen, first under the stage direction of Christoph\u00a0Schlingensief, conductors Pierre Boulez and Adam Fischer, then under the stage direction of Stefan\u00a0Herheim, conductors Daniele\u00a0Gatti\u00a0and Philipp Jordan. \u00a0In addition, she sang the role\u00a0of \u00a0Magdalene\u00a0in \"Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg\" under the stage direction of \u00a0Katharina Wagner, conductor Sebastian\u00a0Weigle.\u00a0\u00a0\u2028In 2013 and\u00a02014\u202f Carola\u00a0Guber\u00a0performed the roles of \u00a0Eboli in \u201eDon Carlo\u201c and \u00a0Isabella in \u201eL\u00b4Italiana\u00a0in\u00a0Algeri\u201c at the \u00a0Musiktheater\u00a0im\u00a0Revier\u00a0in Gelsenkirchen. \u00a0From\u00a02012-2016\u00a0she sang\u00a0the role of the Mother in\u00a0H\u00e4nsel\u00a0und Gretel at the\u00a0Komische\u00a0Oper\u00a0Berlin.\u00a0\u2028She can be heard in CD and DVD recordings in: \u201e Die Zauberfl\u00f6te\" (2. Dame under John Eliot Gardiner), Carl Reineke\u201e Kinderlieder\", \u201eVerdiana\u201c (arrangement Andreas N.Tarkmann), \u201eDie Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg\", Bayreuther Festspiele 2008. \u00a0\u2028From 2008 to 2011 Carola Guber held the position of adjunct vocal instructor at the Hochschule \u201eFranz Liszt\" in Weimar.
