Her many activities as a soloist, chamber musician, teacher, and festival director make her a consummate musician who lives her passion in all its forms.\r\nShe began playing the violin at the age of three in Strasbourg, her hometown. The instrument, whose voice is close to that of the human voice, quickly became the embodiment and sound of her dreams\u2014and has never left her since.\r\nHer mentors, Wolfgang Marschner, Zakhar Bron, and Jean-Jacques Kantorow, shaped her into an artist of many dimensions, standing at the crossroads of three great European violin traditions. From a very young age, Genevi\u00e8ve gained experience on stage.\r\nAfter several international successes and a first prize at the Novosibirsk International Competition, she won the fifth <em>Violon de l\u2019Adami<\/em> competition and recorded her first album on that occasion, together with pianist Jean-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Neuburger.\r\nSince then, Genevi\u00e8ve Laurenceau has been invited to perform as a soloist with major French and international orchestras, under the baton of conductors such as Michel Plasson, Walter Weller, Fran\u00e7ois-Xavier Roth, Tugan Sokhiev, Thomas S\u00f8nderg\u00e5rd, Antony Hermus, and Christian Arming, among others.\r\nAs <em>Premier Violon Supersoliste<\/em> of the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse from 2007 to 2017, she fully embraced this experience until her intense schedule eventually led her to pursue her solo career further.\r\nIn 2011, Genevi\u00e8ve Laurenceau was named \u201cArtist of the Year\u201d by <em>ResMusica<\/em>.\r\nLoving the stage, sharing, and deeply believing in the essential values of art, culture, and music, Genevi\u00e8ve Laurenceau is passionate about human and artistic encounters.\r\nThis is reflected in projects such as the string quintet <em>Smoking Jos\u00e9phine<\/em>, founded in 2018, and <em>La Symphonie des oiseaux<\/em> (\u201cThe Symphony of Birds\u201d), a poetic and musical show created with bird imitators Johnny Rasse and Jean Boucault.\r\nCommitted to the music of her time, she regularly collaborates with composers such as Benjamin Attahir, Karol Beffa, Beno\u00eet Menut, Fabien Touchard, and Philippe Hersant, who have dedicated works to her.\r\nHer discography, often acclaimed, gives pride of place to the French repertoire.\r\nDrawn to the world of teaching in 2017\u2014when Philippe Jaroussky invited her to join the faculty of his academy at La Seine Musicale\u2014Genevi\u00e8ve currently teaches violin at the IESM (Higher Education Center for Music) in Aix-en-Provence.\r\nShe is also the artistic director of the Obernai Music Festival, which she founded in 2009.\r\nGenevi\u00e8ve plays a violin made by the Turin luthier Cappa, dating from 1700.","accomplishments":[{"text_accomplishments":"Professor at the IESM of Aix-en-Provence"}]},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/teacher\/4422","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/teacher"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/teacher"}],"acf:term":[{"embeddable":true,"taxonomy":"instrument","href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/instrument\/45"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4422"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"instrument","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.salineacademy.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/instrument?post=4422"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
