Long Thibaud Crespin Competition (Piano)

It will celebrate its 80th birthday in 2023 and was created by the two French musicians whose name it bears: the pianist Marguerite Long (1874-1966) who premiered Ravel´s Concerto in G, and the violinist Jacques Thibaud (1880-1953). Devoting herself to young performers, Marguerite Long donated her entire fortune to realize the first competition in 1943. She was helped by many during the following years, and in 1957 the French government offered its formal support.
