Paulo Cello Competition

The Paulo Cello Competition is an international high-level event open to cellists of all nationalities aged 16–30. The repertoire has always been exciting and demanding, including both contemporary music and earlier cello masterpieces. The competition has been organized in 1991, 1996, 2002, 2007, 2013 and 2018. The next time the competition will be held in 2023. The artistic director of the competition and the chairman of the jury is the cello artist Arto Noras. The competition gets its name from its founder and main supporter Paulon Foundation.
