International Piano Competition “Ricard Viñes”

From the 2010 edition, and in view of the increase in the number of participants in the competition, some modifications are incorporated that mean a new change of direction: the economic endowment of all the prizes is considerably increased, important prizes are created for the best contestants of Spanish nationality, the calendar of the tests is lengthened by one more day and the concert of the final test of Category A (with reduction to two pianos) is replaced by a recital of forty-five minutes. For the 2011 edition, the rules have been slightly modified to give more freedom to the contestants in the choice of their repertoire. The Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition is organized by the Conservatori Professional de Música de Lleida and the Auditori Municipal Enric Granados. It is a member of the international association of piano competitions Alink-Argerich Foundation since 2010.
